19 May 1919 is not merely a date; it symbolises rising again with hope, believing in independence, and the determination to build the future together. The torch of independence lit by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Samsun has become the name of a great beginning that will live on forever in the memory of our nation.
One of the most meaningful aspects of 19 May is the great trust placed in the youth. Atatürk’s gift of this special day to the young people is the strongest demonstration of his belief that the future will rise on the shoulders of young people who think, create, work and take responsibility. For a strong tomorrow is only possible with generations who work with determination, love their country and never lose hope.
The duty that falls to us today is to carry the inspiration we draw from the past into the future, to work even harder in unity and solidarity, and to always place our trust in our young people. The dreams, energy and hard work of young people are our country’s greatest strength. Their successes will shape our shared future.
19 May is not merely a public holiday; it is also a symbol of solidarity, hard work, courage and shared hopes. This meaningful day reminds us that, despite our differing views and life stories, we can walk together for the future of the same country.
With these feelings and thoughts, I wholeheartedly celebrate 19 May, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day; and I wish health, success and a bright future to everyone looking to the future with hope, especially our young people.
